Kickoff of the homepage

In the winter term 2024/25 the WissensSpur is the topic of the lecture series studium universale of Leipzig University. Every week we visit another important venue of the trail. The first meeting, on 23 October, took place in the physics building, where we commemorated the 100th anniversary of the creation of quantum mechanics by the Leipzig university professor Werner Heisenberg.

The evening started with a tour through the physics building and its labs. In a subsequent talk Prof. Jürgen Haase provided a tour through the history and open questions of quantum mechanics, and of the physics institutes in Leipzig.

Then Prof. Jürgen Vollmer introduced the idea of the WissensSpuren and kicked off their homepage. The evening was concluded with a reception in the Aula of the Physics building. The team and the students of the physics faculty had a party till late in the night.
