In November we will celebrate the first anniversary of the WissensSpuren, and the German Museum for Books and Writing lauches its new exhibition Forget it?!. In a joint venture we invite you to a KnowledgeFestival. Together with partners from science, society, and culture we will consider what is worth remembering, what should be forgotten, and how to preserve what is important. And we will discover entirely new aspects of the topic of forgetting. Come along — to participate, to exchange ideas, to marvel.

At 10am we open the festival in the German Museum for Books and Writing. A substantial part of the exhibits and art installations is described in English and in German. The artists will be around, and some of them prefer to communicate in English. Moreover, at 1:15pm Kimberly Coulter will give a talk in English: “The future of the colonial past”.
At 2pm we will set out for a WissensSpuren walk, conducted in German, that explores the legacy of historically significant “power women” who lived and worked in Leipzig. On the way we will visit the Samuel Heinicke Support Center.
From 4:30pm – 6pm the day will be concluded with a guided tour in the Grassi Museum for Antropology and an exploration of “The ambivalent longing for the foreign” with the cinema organ and silent films.
The full program is available on our German page.
