Welches Wissen hat es in die WissenSchaf(f)t geschafft?

On the 20th of June the Long Night of the Sciences Leipzig took place. On this occasion we exploreded the historical, cultural, and political dimensions of remembrance of scientists and the canonization of their work. The evening started with a talk at the Museum of Books and Writing. Subsequently, we walked through the Linnéstraße and the Liebigstraße into the city center. On the way we visited research institutes and collections, and discussed the achievements of some well-known and less-known researchers. Against this backdrop we exchange views about
- whose research results are taken up?
 - which scientists are remembered for their achievements?
 - which mechanisms play a role in this selection?

The tour was be conducted in German with an English interlude at the Max Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences.
